Mr. Ozdemir was born in Turkey, immigrated to the United States and spent his life building his reputation and tailoring company. He faced a challenging three-year legal battle when he was falsely accused of inappropriately touching ten different individuals. He went to trial in the spring of 2023, which resulted in a hung jury. Meticulous preparation began again. After the two-week 2024 retrial, the jury acquitted him of all charges.
A key fact in delivering a favorable result for our client was the stellar testimony of the defense police practices expert. Her forward-thinking expert presentation explained to the jurors how law enforcement’s implicit bias during investigation had resulted in a tainted investigation that turned a blind eye to proof of Mr. Ozdemir’s innocence.
The victory serves as a testament to the dedication and resilience of not just his strategic legal team but the Boulder community that supported him throughout the ordeal.
